Apple CEO Tim Cook is reportedly preparing to leave his position after 15 years at the helm of the technology giant, ending a leadership era marked by major growth, operational changes and significant shifts in the company’s global strategy.
According to a report by Firstpost, Cook is expected to transition into the role of executive chairman after stepping down as chief executive.
He is reportedly set to be succeeded by John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, who is expected to take over as the company’s next CEO.
Cook became Apple’s chief executive in 2011, succeeding the company’s co-founder Steve Jobs, and has since overseen one of the most consequential periods in Apple’s history.
